Defined contribution (DC) Section
I want to rejoin
After leaving Emerson (the Company)
If you’re re-employed by Emerson after leaving, you’ll automatically be auto-enrolled back into the UK Pension Plan (DC section) after:
- You’ve been working at the Company for three years or more
- You’re working or ordinarily working in the UK
- You have monthly earnings above £833.33 before tax and National Insurance
- You may also opt to join the Plan before being automatically enrolled from the 1st of the month following your new employment – for example, if you joined the Company on the 10 February, you will be enrolled on the 1 March
After opting-out of the Plan
If you chose for any reason to opt-out or withdraw from the Plan, there are two ways that you can rejoin.
- At three year intervals (the next being on 1 October 2022), you’re automatically re-enrolled back into the UK Pension Plan and you therefore don’t need to take any action.
- You can apply to rejoin sooner through your HR department. Buck will ask if you wish to continue to pay towards your existing pension fund or open a new one.
